The idea
Each puzzle shows a board before and after an unseen transformation. Study what changes and what stays the same, then rearrange the shapes on a new board using the rule you discovered. Each chapter introduces a new kind of order, from simple turns to richer spatial ideas. There is no clock to race.
Learning through discovery
The design challenge is to give players enough evidence to discover a rule while leaving room for that satisfying moment of understanding. The examples are part of the puzzle: they need to make the rule discoverable without simply giving it away.
Building the puzzles and the tools
I use Claude and ChatGPT throughout the process, from refining the idea to coding, testing, and preparing the game for release. Alongside the game, I've built Studio, a tool for authoring and validating puzzles. A shared rule engine generates the example transformations and solutions, so I can explore new rules and refine the progression across chapters.
